Rob Robinson elected President of the Australian Institute of Physics

At their 2013 Annual General Meeting in Melbourne, Bragg Institute Head, Dr Robert Robinson was elected to a two-year term as President of the Australian Institute of Physics

 

At the same meeting, Prof. Warrick Couch (Swinburne University), who will soon become Director of the Australian Astronomical Observatory, was elected Vice-President.
 

 

Dr Robinson has been Leader of the Bragg Institute, since its inception in December 2002. His main research activities have been in condensed-matter physics. 
 
His current research interests include strongly correlated f-electron systems magnetism in uranium intermetallics, molecular magnets, the dynamics of amorphous materials and neutron-scattering instrumentation.
