Two Australian companies, Moldflow and Advanced Polymerik, have announced an agreement to incorporate results from work, involving Robert Knott, as part of ANSTO's involvement in the Cooperative Research Centre for Polymers, into Moldflow's injection molding software.
Our distinctive contribution was to characterise the effects of different processing conditions on the resulting microstructure across moulded components, using synchrotron radiation experiments.
Moldflow is the dominant supplier of software for injection moulding, a process used in roughly a third of all plastic products.
