First SANS from a protein at OPAL

We have successfully performed our first measurement of a protein on our QUOKKA small-angle neutron scattering instrument.  This is part of our commissioning process for the instrument, but also in order to have secondary standard.

The data are on glucose isomerase at a concentration of 12 mg/ml and were collected for 9000 s at a detector distance of 20.2 m, 3600 s at 5.4 m and 1800 s at 1.2 m. Also shown is a fit to the data using the program CRYSON (from Dmitri Svergun's group in Hamburg).
