2014 is the United Nations International Year of Crystallography, which will be launched at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris in January 2014.
As part of this, we have partnered with the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility and the Institut Laue-Langevin, in Grenoble France, and the Australian Synchrotron in Melbourne to put on a "Bragg Symposium" as part of the festivities. A full day of activities in France will be kicked off with a video hook-up to the Bragg Institute with live talks from both Australia and France, and a common question-and-answer session.
Specifically, we will hear from John Jenkin (La Trobe University) on "the Braggs", Bauke Dijkstra (ESRF), Stephen Cusack (European Molecular Biology Laboratory) and a tag-team consisting of new Australian Synchrotron Director Andrew Peele, together with Rob Robinson.
