Today, a small celebration was held in the OPAL Auditorium to celebrate the opening of the National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center's office at the OPAL Reactor.
This marks the transfer, to the National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center, of operational responsibility for the new SIKA cold-neutron 3-axis spectrometer, which has been constructed by the National Central University, under the leadership of Prof. Wen-Hsien Li, with funding from the National Science Council of Taiwan.
The Taiwan research community represents the largest single group of overseas users at the OPAL reactor, and we expect this partnership to grow further, as OPAL's new instruments come on line in the coming year.
