Today we performed the first dilution-refrigerator experiment in a neutron beam at OPAL: using our WOMBAT high-intensity powder diffractometer.
The sample was neodymium stannate, Nd2Sn2O7, and a base refrigerator temperature of 40mK was achieved in zero magnetic field, and 50mK at 10T.
