Farewell to a Cambridge student

Today we bade farewell to Jonathan McCree-Grey, a joint student with the University of Cambridge, who returns to the 'old country' for the final stages of his thesis after two years at ANSTO. Jonathan's thesis topic is Molecular orientation dynamics of dye-anchoring in dye-sensitised solar cells. Jonathan was supervised by Jacqui Cole of the Cavendish Laboratory, and Stephen Holt and Garry McIntyre of the Bragg Institute, and also worked extensively with Peter Evans of the Institute of Materials Engineering at ANSTO.

Coincidently, it was also announced today that Jacqui Cole, who is a regular user of the OPAL neutron-beam instruments, will lead a new interdisciplinary initiative in Molecular Engineering in the Cavendish Laboratory and the Department of Chemical Engineering & Biotechnology at the University, with emphasis on smart materials like the solar cells studied by Jonathan. We wish Jacqui all the best in this endeavour.
