ANSTO participated today in a meeting, held as part of the IPS08 conference in Mito Japan, to establish the Asia-Oceania Neutron Scattering Association, a federation of user groups in the Asia-Oceania region.
Initial membership consists of the Japan Society for Neutron Science, the Australian Neutron Beam Users Group and the Korean Neutron Beam Users Association.
An interim executive committee is currently being formed, with the formal announcement of the Association expected at the XXI Congress of the International Union of Crystallography in Osaka, Japan, in August 2008.
