The Preliminary Safety Analysis Report for the replacement research reactor and supporting documents sent to ARPANSA by ANSTO some six months ago addressed the broad range of safety considerations associated with the replacement research reactor, including those relating to security.
As part of this detailed process, ANSTO is working to provide the additional information as requested by ARPANSA in their Media Release of 12 November 2001. In responding to these issues, ANSTO is taking international best practice on the safety of research reactors into account.
