At 3am this morning, we closed the shutters for TG1-3 and CG1-3, in preparation for a 6-week shutdown of OPAL which commences on 5 November.
The TAIPAN and SIKA 3-axis spectrometers will be able to open their shutters again on December 17th, but the guide hall instruments will remain closed while the new out-of-pile guides CG-2A and CG-2B are installed, and major remediation is undertaken on the existing guides.
Everything should be complete in March 2013, with a return to user service on ECHIDNA, WOMBAT, KOALA and KOWARI in April 2013.
