ANSTO is holding six Easter Egg Science Workshops these school holidays. Destined to be a hit with sweet tooths and junior scientists alike, the 90-minute workshops will give kids the chance to:
- Watch Easter bunnies and eggs being sucked into vacuum jars;
- Create edible chocolate ‘‘slime’’; and
- Make colour patterns with the Smarties colour wheel.
“This year we are starting a new Easter tradition at ANSTO – the creation of kilograms of chocolate slime,” said Rod Dowler from ANSTO’s Discovery Centre.
“These workshops will be a great, fun and cheap way of introducing a bit of science and a bit more chocolate into the school holiday break.”
The 90-minute workshops cost $10 a person and are designed for kids aged 8-14 years. They will be held at 9am and 11.30am from Wednesday 11 April to Friday 13 April, 2012.
