Today, Prof. Simon Clark, joined us from the Advanced Light Source at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California, in a jointly funded position with the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Macquarie University.
Simon is an expert in the application of synchrotron-radiation methods to the earth sciences, particularly at the high pressures and temperatures relevant in the earth's mantle and core.
He will be a key player in building up such activities both at the Australian Synchrotron in Melbourne, and using neutron scattering and imaging at the OPAL Research Reactor in Sydney.
