ANSTO is proud to be a Gold Sponsor of the Sutherland Shire’s Relay for Life on 3-4 May 2014. Gather your team mates and loved ones and join us for the race of the year. What are you waiting for?
What is Relay for Life?
Cancer Council’s NSW Relay for Life (RFL) is a unique, 24 hour community event held in towns across Australia. Teams of 10-15 people participate in a relay-style walk or run to raise funds for Cancer Council with their local community.
Team members take turns to walk or run around a track whilst enjoying entertainment, activities and ceremonies during the two day event. Relay for Life is accessible to all levels of fitness. Team members can spend a few hours at the event, a whole day or both days. In fact, teams can even safely camp overnight with hundreds of others!
The Shire’s RFL is the largest relay on the eastern seaboard and the 2nd largest RFL event in Australia. Sutherland Shire's RFL is 3-4 May 2014, from 9AM.
Where and when?
Shire RFL is held in May at the Sylvania Athletic Track, Belgrave Esplanade, Sylvania.
Aside from our goal of creating three ANSTO teams, ANSTO hosts an information marquee at the event that's run by the Discovery Centre and reaches 6000+ people with education on ANSTO’s role in the production of medical isotopes and nuclear medicines that are used to detect and treat of some cancers.
