Success in ARC Grants

Please join us in congratulating Anton Le Brun, who has succeeded in winning a Discovery Early Career Researcher Award for funding commencing in 2014.  This will provide Anton with the opportunity to continue his research in the Institute for another 3 years.

Dr Anton Le Brun
Dr Anton Le Brun is an instrument scientist at the Bragg Institute whose work has included a study into how frog skin proteins may help fight superbugs like MRSA.

In the current round, the Institute is also involved in one successful ARC-Discovery grant, on "High-quality Diluted Magnetic Semiconductors", for $240k over 3 years and one successful ARC-LIEF grant for a total of $150k: "Ultrafast time resolved optical spectroscopy for advanced multifunctional materials". Both projects are led by the University of New South Wales, the latter by Clemens Ulrich, a joint appointment between the Institute and UNSW.
