Happy birthday to KU ANSTO Children’s Centre, which celebrated its first anniversary (with cake, of course!) as a valued community service last Friday.
The has been such strong interest and support from ANSTO staff and the local community, that already the Children’s Centre is operating at full capacity.
A total of 90 children currently access the wonderful childcare centre, around two thirds of whom have a parent who works at ANSTO, and the other third of whom are children from the local area.
ANSTO’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr Adi Paterson, said he was absolutely thrilled to be celebrating KU ANSTO’s first anniversary.
“KU ANSTO is a vision in action –thanks to the work of a few dedicated ANSTO staff who saw it as a new opportunity to improve our workplace and contribute to our community,” said Dr Paterson.
“While it has only been opened for a year, the centre is already having the wonderful, positive impact which we were hoping for.
“ANSTO parents are finding that they are able to work more productively day-to-day, knowing that their children are safe and close by, in a leading childcare centre.
“And the community has really embraced the opportunity to send their children to our wonderful bushland campus, and we expect this community partnership will go from strength to strength in the future.”
KU CEO Christine Legg joined Dr Paterson to mark the milestone for one of their organisation’s newer childcare services, and to congratulate the dedicated KU staff.
KU Children’s Services operates more than 150 childcare centres throughout Australia, including locally in Heathcote and Sutherland.
“This centre has been an extraordinarily successful addition to our large portfolio range of high quality early childhood services in Australia,” said Ms Legg.
“Looking around here you can see the reason for their success is obvious – from the bushland setting to the stunning architectural design and incredible play and learning spaces.
“Of course the other part of the equation to make a centre such as this successful is our highly qualified, experienced and caring staff, who have done an exemplary job here, and I congratulate them.”
