Eureka Prizes: 2011 is an extra special year because it is the first time ANSTO is sponsoring a brand new award category: ‘The Eureka Prize for the Innovative Use of Technology’. Both students and teachers have the opportunity to participate in the Eureka Prizes, with awards targeting young achievers and teaching excellence.
Science Week: every year in August, ANSTO takes part in Science Week programs. This year we have successfully secured a grant to run a new event entitled, ‘Science Fact or Fiction’. This exciting venture gives you the chance to watch short segments of popular sci-fi movies before ANSTO scientists critique the science featured in each segment and make decisions on whether it is based on fact or fiction.
Teacher development days: ANSTO offers high school science teachers the opportunity to take part in development days, including a site tour, covering topics relevant to Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Earth and Environmental Science syllabuses.
