Today we closed the special proposal round for beam time between now and July 2014 on our QUOKKA small-angle neutron scattering instrument and our PLATYPUS neutron reflectometer.
On QUOKKA, a total of 22 proposals were submitted, requesting 77 days of beam time, while on PLATYPUS there were 26 proposals requesting 118 days of beam time. Review will take place within the next week, and will be "internal and light".
Those proposals that are not successful will automatically be transferred into the normal round, for beam time in the second half of 2014, with a closing date of 15th March 2014. Aside from Australia, there are proposals from Japan, China, France and the USA (3 each), New Zealand (2) and Denmark (1).
