ANSTO has been well represented at the 15th Annual Science Meets Parliament in Canberra over the last two days, in part through our staff's membership in and activity for the nation's professional societies, which collectively comprise Science and Technology Australia.
On top of this, ANSTO was sponsor for the Gala Dinner, in the Great Hall of Parliament, at which our own Anna Paradowska spoke to a full house, including parliamentarians, researchers and industrialists from around Australia and overseas.
As part of Science Meets Parliament, The Australian Academy of Science and the Office of the Chief Scientist yesterday released an important document on "The Importance of Advanced Physical and Mathematical Sciences to the Australian Economy."
Institute Head, Rob Robinson, was one of the contributors to this report, in his role as a member of the Academy's National Committee on Physics.
