Today, ECHIDNA's and WOMBAT's shutters were open again following a four-and-a-half month shutdown to install the CG-2 shutter and replace most of the glass in the TG-1 supermirror guide.
Flux and spectrum measurements have been completed on the new guide materials, and performance validation of the two powder diffractometers is under way. Everything is on track for the first scheduled user experiments in April 2013.
Similar work is currently going on, on the TG-3 guide and our KOWARI strain scanner and KOALA Laue diffractometer should also be ready for user experiments as scheduled in early April.
