Success in ARC Grants

In the current round, the Institute is involved in three successful ARC-Discovery grants, on "Transition Metal Oxide Heterostructures", for $244k, "New Nanoparticles Structures with Optimised Shapes for Biological Applications", for $421k, and "A Geophysically Relevant Proton Conduction Model for the Earth’s Upper Mantle", for $263k.  In addition, the Institute is also involved in a single ARC-LIEF grant on an "Australian Virtual Experimental Laboratory: a Multimode Geoscience Facility", for $547k.

The first two projects are led by the University of New South Wales, and are led respectively by Clemens Ulrich (in Physics) and Martina Stenzel (in Chemistry), and include our own Frank Klose and Chris Garvey as co-investigators.  The other two projects involve Simon Clark of Macquarie University, who holds a joint position between ANSTO and Macquarie University in Sydney.
