Cleaner energy options for our future: panel discussion

Media is invited to attend an expert panel discussion to discuss cleaner energy options for Australia - from carbon capture and solar to nuclear.

The discussion will be chaired by ABC’s Robyn Williams and includes Dr Ziggy Switkowski (ANSTO* Chairman), Keith Orchison (energy commentator) and Burt Beasley (Australian Coal Association).

The discussion will give the public attending ANSTO’s Nuclear Open Day an opportunity to hear different views on clean energy and ask questions of the experts. It is also a chance to join in the current debate about our energy future.

Seating is limited so please advise if you are attending so a seat can be reserved.

Overall the Nuclear Open Day will allow people to learn about how radiation works and why it is an essential part of our everyday lives; how nuclear techniques are used to produce radiopharmaceuticals for use in nuclear medicine, understand climate change, forensics, medical advances, counter terrorism, archaeology, food science, material science and much, much more.

ANSTO is Australia’s centre of nuclear excellence and innovation, managing a 70 hectare campus at Lucas Heights and employing around 900 staff. As the primary supplier of radiopharmaceuticals for use in nuclear medicine, ANSTO makes over half a million doses every year.
