A spokesperson for The Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) said:
“As is on the public record, ANSTO has the latest security systems, and security infrastructure including fencing, CCTV cameras and the presence of a 24-hour, armed AFP response force.
“Security arrangements at ANSTO will always be second to none, in line with our regulatory requirements, international best practice and community expectations.
“ANSTO’s security arrangements are:
- Intelligence-led;
- Assessed continuously based on risk;
- Aligned with the current threat environment; and
- Scalable upwards at short notice.
“We continue to work with the AFP, the intelligence community, and other relevant agencies to make sure that the measures we have remain commensurate with the threat environment.”
