An emergency training exercise was conducted at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation’s (ANSTO’s) Lucas Heights campus on Sunday 21 April between 2pm and 8pm.
The training was jointly conducted by ANSTO, the NSW Police Force and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and was an opportunity for our three organisations to practice working together on an emergency scenario that was specific to ANSTO’s Lucas Heights campus, and to re-assure the community about our ability to respond to this and other types of incidents.
Similar training exercises are routinely conducted at major airports, transport hubs and key locations across Australia.
