ANSTO Minerals Technology Manager, Dr Karin Soldenhoff is travelling to India to present a plenary lecture at the International Conference on Science, Technology and Applications of Rare Earths in Trivandrum, Kerala, India on 23 April.
Soldenhoff will be highlighting some specific processing options for low grade rare earth mineral concentrates based on project work at ANSTO Minerals.
“Because of our experience with a range of ore types, from monazite to the polymetallic ores, we can provide information on a range of improvements to processing routes” said Soldenhoff.
The Rare Earth Association of India, who is hosting the conference, has identified that the current global demand for rare earths is expected to provide a myriad of business opportunities for rare earth industries across the world based upon the utilization of rare earths in green energy and other advanced technologies.
“This is where our knowledge of the multiple processing routes for rare earths can be a benefit to mineral producers aiming to supply this growing market” said Soldenhoff.
