Mr Alexander Bychkov
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Deputy Director General Alexander Bychkov, will give a lecture on nuclear energy at ANSTO on Tuesday 28 October, as part of our distinguished lecture series.

In this talk Mr Bychkov will share his thoughts on the current and future role of nuclear energy in the global mix. Across the world the planned construction of new nuclear plants is continuing to increase with new entrants and adopters being added to the nuclear power club.

In the Asia-Pacific region, countries such as China, India, Pakistan and South Korea are continuing to increase installed nuclear capacity through the construction of, or newly announced build programs for new plants.

In addition to these countries constructing nuclear power plants, several other countries in the region have announced plans, or are seriously considering the installation of nuclear power to provide them with base-load power.
