Today ANSTO is joint host to the 2-day Italian-Australian Workshop on Nanostructured Materials for Magnetic and Spintronic Devices, which is being held at the Italian Embassy in Canberra.
The bilateral workshop provides an opportunity for networking, scoping, information sharing, and identifying potential areas for research collaborations in the emerging fields of magnetic nanostructures and spintronics.
The workshop could also act as a driving force for participation of Australian research groups, together with Italian partners, in, for example, European Union Framework Programmes.
The oral programme is by invitation, with speakers from 8 Italian research institutes, 9 Australian universities, CSIRO and ANSTO, and covers a wide range of topics in magnetism.
