ANSTO was a major supporter of this year’s Sutherland Shire Council's Australia Day activities.
Many staff enjoyed getting involved with the local community events and took the opportunity to talk about the great work being done here at ANSTO that is benefiting the lives of Australians every day of the year.
Australia Day fundraising efforts by all participants at Cronulla Beach in Sydney’s south contributed to the overall $8,000 being raised to support the folk affected by the floods in Queensland.
Many of those who celebrated Australia Day at Cronulla Beach didn’t hesitate in generously donating gold coins in exchange for colourful ANSTO beach balls or brain teasers, knowing all proceeds were going to the Rotary QLD Flood Relief fund.
Thank you to all those who supported the fundraising efforts.
