ANSTO hosted a highly successful event at NSW Parliament House on 5 August that highlighted how nuclear science and technology is improving cancer outcomes for patients here in NSW and around the world. Over 50 guests, including members of the NSW Parliament from across the political spectrum, as well as a range of representative from the wider health and research community attended the luncheon that was emceed by ANSTO Board Member Penny Dobson.

CEO Adi Paterson provided an overview of past applications of nuclear science to improve cancer outcomes and outlined exciting new treatment initiatives on the horizon. He
emphasised the critical role that ANSTO has in providing nuclear medicine and shared details of the $168 million ANSTO Nuclear Medicine project that will ensure Australia maintains a secure supply for the future.
Professor David Currow, CEO & Chief Cancer Officer, Cancer Institute NSW pointed out the important role that clinical collaborations have in driving better outcomes for cancer patients.
NSW Minister for Health the Hon Jillian Skinner also took to the podium to acknowledge the important contributions ANSTO is making to improving health outcomes in NSW. The Minister said she looked forward to working with ANSTO in the future
