Dr Robert Ring answers the question: Is the Uranium processing industry prepared for future challenges?

ANSTO Minerals Business Development Manager, Dr Robert Ring is presenting a plenary lecture at the upcoming AusIMM International Uranium Conference in Adelaide on 9 June.

With a particular focus on Australian projects, Ring will review the technological progress that the uranium industry has made along with taking a look into what challenges and further opportunities may exist with the aim to answer the question: Is the industry prepared?

"Projects in the next decade are likely to face new challenges and equally, further opportunities. As projects develop they must adapt and innovate, taking on new process technologies to remain competitive" said Ring.

Dr Robert Ring has close to 40 years’ experience in R&D and consultancy work for clients in Australia and overseas related to the hydrometallurgical processing of ores and the treatment of waste streams arising from processing operations. Particular areas of expertise are the leaching of uranium ores, water treatment and recycle in uranium flowsheets, and the deportment of radionuclides in hydrometallurgical circuits. He has undertaken many collaborative projects with the mining industry and acted as a consultant to the International Atomic Energy Agency in uranium processing.
