In the current round of ARC Linkage Grants, the Institute has been involved in one successful grant, on "Development of functionally-graded materials for wheel-rail contact using laser cladding", for $163k in ARC funding, plus $118k from the partner organisations, over four years.
The project is led by Monash University, with Hardchrome Engineering and the Welding Technology Institute of Australia as industrial partners.
