On Tuesday 7th March at the Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin fur Materialien und Energies (HZB) BESSY II site in Berlin, HZB and ANSTO held a joint workshop on "Perspectives for energy and materials science research within large scale facilities".
This workshop allowed participants to exchange information on current research activities undertaken by both organisations and to explore potential collaborative research opportunities.
The workshop is one of the many initiatives that both organisations are undertaking under the Memorandum of Understanding that was signed in October 2016. Other such initiatives include the transfer of BioRef to ANSTO and the hosting of the Berlin Neutron School at ANSTO in 2018.
