Our Kowari strain scanner was used to study the crystallographic texture (preferred crystallite orientation), which provides information on the method of manufacture of Greek coins dating back to 540 BC.
The ANSTO collaborators on this work, which features a growing theme of using neutron methods like neutron tomography, texture determination and strain scanning for research subjects important in "cultural heritage", were Vladimir Luzin and Scott Olsen.
